The Shell
Eco-Marathon is a major educational initiative, focusing on sustainable
mobility and giving future engineers and technicians the chance to explore and
experiment with technology and fuels, which could provide the answer to the
world’s environmental transportation needs.
The principle of
the Shell Eco-marathon is simple: students need to design and build a vehicle
which will drive the maximum distance, using the smallest amount of fuel and producing
the fewest emissions possible.
For the first time
in the event’s history, a Ukrainian team was chosen to participate. We, the team
of enthusiastic students from Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University,
have designed a car capable of beating records at the race which will take
place in Nogaro, France, on 22-24 May 2008.
