Conference "Students’ international engineering projects"

The meeting with our counterparts from Moscow Automobile and Highway Institute (GTU MADI) is associated with the conference of "Students’ International Engineering Projects". We are interested in this exchange of experience, because our colleagues from Russia have already participated in international students’ projects like Formula Student (FSAE) and Formula Hybrid that presents a big interest for us. Besides, our team has experience in Shell Eco-marathon (SEM).

In autumn 2010, the management of Moscow State Automobile and Highway Technical University got acquainted with the activities and achievements of our team-member of eco-marathon. Then, they took the initiative to create the first Russian team. As a result there were organized exchange visits between the two teams.
Today, in Russia, on different stages of readiness there are the following Formula Student teams: MADI, Moscow Automobile and Motor Institute (MAMI), Tomsk State University (TGU), Novosibirsk Technical University (NTGU), Russian People's Friendship University (RUDN). And one can add to this list the first Ukrainian Formula Student team from Odessa National Polytechnic University. We shouldn’t forget that currently MADI is represented by 2 teams Formula Student and Formula Hybrid.

Constant search for sponsors by the team Formula Student MADI, of course, brings substantial benefits, but unfortunately constant systematic cooperation is rarely attainable. In spite of this, we can gain a positive experience. Undisputedly, we get more and more support on behalf of university administration by taking part in international competitions annually, by representing our country and the university. In fact, when the first team was created, our resource base was poor; we didn’t even have an assembly room. But now there are laboratories and stands at our disposal, and it is encouraging.
It is interesting to note that some people from the first FSAE team of MADI are now successfully working on the notorious project "Marussia F1" and on other equally ambitious projects. So, be that as it may be, but experts, who are willing and able to work, will be in great demand at all times. And one of the most effective methods to train such specialists is by participating in students' engineering projects.
